‘Parking Lot D’Elegance’ Event Recap

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, van life enthusiasts from around southern California gathered at Deus Ex Machina’s Venice Beach location for their monthly ‘Parking Lot D'Elegance’ car show. The event, hosted by our friends at Vanspeed Shop with support from Super73, The Van Mart, and us (altCamp), was a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community, drawing hundreds of attendees eager to explore the van life culture.

The turnout exceeded expectations, with various van owners proudly showcasing their custom builds, unique designs, and personalized touches. Whether you were a seasoned van owner, prospective camper van renter, or just curious about van life in general, there was something for everyone. From the modern, beach-house-style builds by Vanspeed to the luxury camper van rental fleet by altCamp, attendees were able to explore a wide range of options to get inspired for their own future adventures.

A Community of Van Life Enthusiasts

What truly set the event apart was both the diverse crowd and the diverse fleet of vehicles on display. Van enthusiasts mingled with curious bystanders, creating a laid-back yet buzzing atmosphere. Whether you were there to swap stories, gain insights into van conversions, or just hang out with like-minded individuals, the event was a great reminder of how vibrant and welcoming the #vanlife community is.

We also saw many prospective camper van and Class B RV renters take this opportunity to get a firsthand look at what an adventure with altCamp could offer. Many walked away inspired by the possibilities for their next road trip, with plenty of questions answered by van owners and representatives from our partners.

Special Appearances & Highlights

A highlight of the day was the appearance of The Lonely Barber, who blessed us with his unique build- a mobile barber shop on wheels. The Super73 Super Squad also joined in the fun, stopping by both before and after their community ride, adding an extra layer of flare to the event with their souped-up e-bikes.
